loaded-junk-truck in Greenwich, CT by Grizzly Junk Pros

Greenwich is our second-most-dispatched town after Stamford — a 15-to-25-minute run from the Stamford yard via I-95 west or the Post Road. Real Greenwich junk calls cover the full tier ladder: an empty-box-and-small-furniture garage clear in the $309–$559 small-load band, a 7-mattress haul (one king, three queens, two twins, one odd-sized) that runs $559, a bigger single-visit residential purge that stacks a treadmill, two beds, two desks, a big couch, a flatscreen, and a ping-pong table into one truck at $979, and a full-house finish-up — the tail end of a bigger multi-day cleanout — that lands around $1,850.

The work spans every section of the town: Old Greenwich and Riverside on the shoreline, the mid-country blocks along King Street and Round Hill, back-country properties north of the Merritt, downtown near Greenwich Avenue, and the Cos Cob / Pemberwick / Glenville pockets in between.

The truck

We show up with a 20 cubic yard truck — bigger than the standard 15-17 cubic yard industry truck, so you can toss more for less. More volume per dispatch means fewer trips, lower aggregate cost on bigger jobs, and predictable sizing math when we tier the truck-load pricing. The two-man crew rides with the truck — we do the loading, you point at the pile.

Common Greenwich junk removal calls

Small-load garage / basement clears ($309–$559 range)

Real Greenwich small-load shape: a garage of empty moving boxes plus a few pieces of small furniture — a clear like that runs $309–$559. Post-move clears, downsizing tails, and partial garage purges all live in this band.

Multi-item mattress + bedroom hauls (~$489–$559 range)

A real Greenwich job shape: 7 mattresses in one dispatch — 1 king, 3 queens, 2 twins, and one odd size — a haul like that runs $559. Old sleep sets from downsized households or turned-over rentals routinely land in this range.

Full-truck residential purges ($979 full-truck tier)

A real Greenwich job shape: a treadmill, two beds, two desks, a big couch, a flatscreen TV, and a ping-pong table in a single truck — that's the $979 full-truck tier, loaded from one property.

Full-house finish-ups and estate tails (~$1,850+ range)

Full-house finish-ups — the last leg of a multi-day whole-property clear — typically run $1,850+. See estate cleanouts and whole-home cleanouts for the full executor-side workflow.

Renovation and remodel debris

Pulled cabinetry, old appliances, ripped-up flooring, post-demo junk from Old Greenwich, Riverside, and back-country renos. Paired with a Greenwich dumpster rental when the scope justifies both a bin and a crew.

  • 7 mattresses — 1 king, 3 queens, 2 twins, 1 other$559. Multi-item sleep-set haul routed through the CT free mattress-recycling path.

Pricing — $179 to $979 by truck-space used

Junk removal is priced by truck-space at the end of the job, not by item count. Thirteen tiers from $179 minimum (single-item or small-pile pickups) to $979 full truckload. Common reference points:

  • $179 minimum — a single mattress, an old appliance, a small pile of junk by the curb
  • $359 — quarter truck — typical garage cleanout or partial basement
  • $559 — half truck — apartment-sized cleanout, single-room renovation debris
  • $809 — three-quarter truck — single-family decluttering, large estate room
  • $979 — full 20-yard truck — full-property cleanouts, whole-home work

We confirm the tier on site before the truck pulls away. No bait-and-switch up after the work starts.

What we take, what we don't

On the junk truck: furniture, mattresses, box springs, appliances (refrigerators, washers, dryers, AC units — refrigerant handled per EPA rules on pickup), televisions and electronics, exercise equipment (treadmills, ellipticals, home gyms), ping-pong and pool tables, general household junk, garage clear-outs, basement contents, estate contents, hot tubs, sheds, and decks (demolition quoted separately when needed).

Not on the junk truck: concrete, brick, asphalt, dirt, soil, sod, rock, sand, gravel, tree limbs, and stumps. Those materials don't ride in the crew truck. When a Greenwich job has any real volume of those — a back-country stone-wall demo, a driveway tear-out, a landscaping regrade — we drop a dumpster instead, sized with the correct weight allowance for heavy debris.

Hazardous waste (paint, motor oil, gasoline, solvents, pesticides, pool chemicals, asbestos, biohazard material, lithium batteries) never rides on the truck either. Greenwich runs a Household Hazardous Waste program through the town — we'll point you to the current drop-off channel on the phone.

Great service. Junk Pros were a great service. They were efficient and timely. The dumpster size worked out well for my needs and I hope to use them each year! I only wish they would give a senior discount of 10% for ongoing users/members!

I would highly recommend Stamford Junk Pros. They are very professional and polite! They show up when they say they are going to and they also call you ahead of time to let you know when exactly they will be there. They are more than fair when it comes to pricing and do what they need to do to get the job done. I have called them 3 times in the past two weeks and will call them again for sure!

Demo work in Greenwich

Junk removal and demolition go together. About a third of our Greenwich dispatches involve some demo before the haul — kitchen cabinets coming out before the gut renovation, an old deck that needs to come down before the lumber gets hauled, a backyard shed that’s done its time. We do both in one job, one crew, one invoice.

Common Greenwich combo jobs: kitchen demo + appliance haul, deck teardown + lumber removal, shed demolition + debris hauling, basement gut work with the debris pulled the same day. Demo work is quoted separately — pricing varies by scope — but we can schedule both on the same truck visit.

Junk removal FAQs — Greenwich

Will you handle Greenwich back-country jobs with long driveways?
Yes. Back-country properties off Round Hill, Riversville, Lake Avenue, and Conyers Farm are routine dispatches. Drive time from the Stamford yard runs 25-30 minutes for most back-country addresses. We don't surcharge for long driveways within the dispatch envelope; tell us about gates or low-clearance approaches at booking so we plan the truck approach.
Do you handle multi-mattress hauls from Greenwich?
Yes — seven mattresses in one dispatch (a king, three queens, two twins, and one odd size) is a real Greenwich job shape; a haul like that runs $559. Connecticut runs a free statewide mattress recycling program, Bye Bye Mattress (byebyemattress.com); we route mattresses through it at no additional cost and bundle them into the truck-load tier when they come out alongside other contents.
Can you coordinate with a Greenwich estate attorney or executor?
Yes — see our [estate attorney services page](/commercial-cleanouts-for-estate-attorneys) for the attorney-coordinated workflow. We can provide itemized invoicing and route donations through Goodwill, Habitat ReStore, and Salvation Army with charity receipts forwarded for the estate's tax basis.
Will you take a hot tub or a full appliance set from a Greenwich property?
Yes. End-of-life hot tubs off back patios and old refrigerator / washer / dryer sets out of basements are regular Greenwich calls. Refrigerant on the appliances gets handled per EPA rules on pickup; hot tubs are broken down on-site where needed for the truck.
Do you cover the downtown Greenwich Avenue condos and elevator-only buildings?
Yes — downtown Greenwich turnovers work the same way as our Stamford high-rise calls: coordinated elevator window, loading-dock access where the building has one, two-man crew. Tell us the building on the phone and we'll plan the reservation with property management.
What's the cheapest junk removal job you'll take in Greenwich?
Our minimum charge is $179 — covers a single mattress, an old appliance, a small pile of junk by the curb. Anything that fits in less than 1/8 of our truck. For very small jobs, that's the floor. Larger jobs scale up by truck-space used, all the way to $979 for a full 20-cubic-yard load.
What can't go in your trucks?
Hazardous waste — paint, motor oil, gasoline, solvents, pesticides, pool chemicals, asbestos, biohazardous material. Lithium and other batteries. CT and NY both run household hazardous-waste programs through most municipalities; we'll point you to the right channel for anything we can't take. Refrigerators, freezers, ACs, and dehumidifiers are fine, but the refrigerant has to be removed (or already removed) per EPA rules — we can document this on pickup.
Do I need to be home for the pickup?
Not always — depends on the job. For interior cleanouts where the crew needs access through the house, yes. For driveway, garage, or yard pickups where items are already accessible, often no — we coordinate on the call. Estate cleanouts and tenant-out scenarios where the family or property manager isn't on-site work fine if access and scope are pre-confirmed.
How fast can you come to Greenwich?
Same-day before 11 AM is the standard target for in-area dispatch. After 11 AM, next-day is realistic. Same-day after 11 AM or on weekends is sometimes possible if the schedule allows — call (203) 219-8855, Mon–Fri 8 AM – 4 PM live, AI after-hours and weekends, to ask.
