Junk Removal in Stamford by Grizzly Junk Pros

Stamford is home. Grizzly has been dispatched out of our Stamford yard since 2014, and roughly 16,000 junk-removal, dumpster, and cleanout jobs later, the crews still start most mornings within a 10-mile radius of it.

Real Stamford junk calls run the full range — a single-couch pickup off a first-floor entry at the $179 minimum, a multi-item furniture haul in the ~$489–$559 range, an office-and-records clear-out that fills the truck at $979, all the way up to a full-house cleanout that runs multiple crew days in the $1,900–$2,800+ range.

Downtown high-rises around Harbor Point and the South End, mid-century single-families in Springdale and Glenbrook, larger lots in Shippan and North Stamford, corporate-park purges off High Ridge Road. Junk removal is what we do most of here, and we know the buildings, the loading docks, the CT free-mattress-takeback path, and which streets need a smaller crew approach instead of the full 20-yard truck.

The truck

We show up with a 20 cubic yard truck — bigger than the standard 15-17 cubic yard industry truck, so you can toss more for less. More volume per dispatch means fewer trips, lower aggregate cost on bigger jobs, and predictable sizing math when we tier the truck-load pricing. The two-man crew rides with the truck — we do the loading, you point at the pile.

Common Stamford junk removal calls

Single-item and small-pile pickups ($179 minimum tier)

Real Stamford minimum-tier calls: a single couch off a first-floor entry, a small futon + twin bed broken down out of the garage, a folding basketball goal off the driveway. Anything that fits under 1/8 of the truck lands at the $179 floor.

Multi-item furniture hauls ($239–$659 by truck space)

Three real Stamford job shapes, each at its own tier: a heavy sofa bed with chairs and display cases runs $239; two love seats, a sectional, and an upstairs treadmill in one dispatch lands in the $489–$559 band; a sectional in pieces plus a bar unit and a 55" flatscreen across two adjacent units fills more truck at $659. Ground-and-second-floor loads are the day-to-day middle of the book.

Office / records clear-outs ($979 full-truck tier)

Corporate-park purges off High Ridge Road, Long Ridge Road, and the Bull's Head cluster. A real Stamford job shape: roughly 60 document boxes plus filing cabinets, a mattress, a box spring, and a wardrobe in one truck — a load like that runs $979. See Commercial: Office & Retail Cleanouts for the paperwork side.

Estate and full-house cleanouts (multi-day, $1,900–$2,800+ range)

Larger lots in Westover, Newfield, Shippan, and the area north of the Merritt. Multi-day whole-property clears — a full-house cleanout here typically runs $1,900–$2,800+ across multiple crew days. See estate cleanouts and whole-home cleanouts for the executor-side workflow.

Renovation and remodel debris

Pulled cabinetry, old appliances, ripped-up flooring, post-demo junk. Either as a stand-alone junk-removal call or alongside a Stamford dumpster rental when the scope justifies both a bin and a crew.

What jobs like these run in Stamford

Real Stamford job shapes from our dispatch history, priced at today’s truck-load tiers — a load like each of these quotes at the number shown.

  • Single couch, first-floor pickup$179. The truck-load minimum tier — one heavy item, no stairs, in and out.
  • Small futon + twin bed (broken down) off the garage$179. Same minimum tier — small pile pre-staged where the crew can grab it.
  • Two love seats, a sectional, and an upstairs treadmill~$489–$559. Multi-item furniture refresh spanning two floors; treadmill was the labor driver.
  • ~60 document boxes, filing cabinets, mattress, box spring, wardrobe (office/records clear-out)$979. Full 20-yard truck at the top of the tier ladder — commercial end-of-lease work.
  • Full-house cleanout~$2,750. Multiple crew days across a whole property — top-to-bottom clear.

Pricing — $179 to $979 by truck-space used

Junk removal is priced by truck-space at the end of the job, not by item count. Thirteen tiers from $179 minimum (single-item or small-pile pickups) to $979 full truckload. Common reference points:

  • $179 minimum — a single mattress, an old appliance, a small pile of junk by the curb
  • $359 — quarter truck — typical garage cleanout or partial basement
  • $559 — half truck — apartment-sized cleanout, single-room renovation debris
  • $809 — three-quarter truck — single-family decluttering, large estate room
  • $979 — full 20-yard truck — full-property cleanouts, whole-home work

We confirm the tier on site before the truck pulls away. No bait-and-switch up after the work starts.

All 13 truck-load tiers — Stamford

When loading the dumpster yourself isn’t the right call — small volume, awkward access, or you just want it gone today — we send a crew. Pricing runs by truck space used, not by item. Final pricing confirmed before removal begins.

What we take, what we don't

On the junk truck: furniture, mattresses, box springs, appliances (refrigerators, washers, dryers, AC units — refrigerant handled per EPA rules on pickup), televisions and electronics, exercise equipment, cardboard and general household junk, garage clear-outs, basement contents, office fit-outs and file-cabinet purges, renovation debris, estate contents, hot tubs, sheds, and decks (demolition quoted separately when needed).

Not on the junk truck: concrete, brick, asphalt, dirt, soil, sod, rock, sand, gravel, tree limbs, and stumps. Those materials don't ride in the crew truck. When a Stamford job has any real volume of those, we drop a dumpster instead — 10, 15, 20, or 30/40-yard sizes, with the correct weight allowance for heavy debris.

Hazardous waste (paint, motor oil, gasoline, solvents, pesticides, pool chemicals, asbestos, biohazard material, lithium batteries) never rides on the truck either. Stamford runs a Household Hazardous Waste program through the city — we'll point you to the current drop-off channel on the phone.

Worked hard to make me happy. Needed to clean out my Mom's entire house. Three guys came and just worked non stop to remove an incredible amount of junk. They where a pleasure to work with and demonstrated a rare work ethic.

It's spring cleaning time! Who am I going to call? the same great company I called 3 times before...grizzly junk pros! I have found these guys to be experts in moving large bulky items. They are hard workers, honest, fair and extremely efficient. I won't take a chance on any other company because I know what to expect from this one. They've done my cellar, things inside the house and now will call them for cleaning out the attic. The areas I've called them for aren't easy to maneuver in...amazing how they adapt to the job at hand.

Demo work in Stamford

Junk removal and demolition go together. About a third of our Stamford dispatches involve some demo before the haul — kitchen cabinets coming out before the gut renovation, an old deck that needs to come down before the lumber gets hauled, a backyard shed that’s done its time. We do both in one job, one crew, one invoice.

Common Stamford combo jobs: kitchen demo + appliance haul, deck teardown + lumber removal, shed demolition + debris hauling, basement gut work with the debris pulled the same day. Demo work is quoted separately — pricing varies by scope — but we can schedule both on the same truck visit.

Junk removal FAQs — Stamford

Can you do same-day junk removal in Stamford?
Almost always — Stamford is our depot. Same-day before 11 AM is the standard target. The longest dispatch ever to a Stamford address is roughly 20 minutes (Bartlett Arboretum / Westover edge); most are 10–15. After 11 AM, same-day is sometimes still possible depending on the day's load.
Do you handle Stamford condo / HOA cleanouts that require elevator reservations?
Yes — we coordinate routinely with Harbor Point, Atlantic Station, and the downtown high-rise buildings on elevator windows. Tell us the building's name and we'll either know the building manager or work through your HOA contact to lock the slot.
Will you take a single couch or mattress out of a downtown Stamford high-rise?
Yes — this is one of our most common Stamford calls. Two-man crew, coordinated elevator window, out through the loading dock. A single sofa, sectional piece, or mattress lands at the $179 minimum tier; add-ons scale by truck-space used. We know the Harbor Point, Atlantic Station, and downtown Summer Street buildings by name.
Do you handle North Stamford large-lot and long-driveway jobs?
Yes. North Stamford properties off Roxbury Road, Long Ridge, and the Merriebrook / Westover blocks are routine dispatches. We plan for the extra drive-in and the multi-room accumulation that tends to come with the larger houses up there — many of the multi-day estate and full-house cleanouts we run are north-of-the-Merritt jobs.
What happens to items I don't want but that are still usable?
Where the item still has real life — a working appliance, sturdy furniture, unopened building materials — we route through Goodwill, Habitat ReStore, and Salvation Army in the Stamford / Norwalk corridor. See our Charities We Work With page (/charities-we-work-with) for the donation-pickup workflow; receipts can be forwarded for estate or tax basis when it matters.
What's the cheapest junk removal job you'll take in Stamford?
Our minimum charge is $179 — covers a single mattress, an old appliance, a small pile of junk by the curb. Anything that fits in less than 1/8 of our truck. For very small jobs, that's the floor. Larger jobs scale up by truck-space used, all the way to $979 for a full 20-cubic-yard load.
What can't go in your trucks?
Hazardous waste — paint, motor oil, gasoline, solvents, pesticides, pool chemicals, asbestos, biohazardous material. Lithium and other batteries. CT and NY both run household hazardous-waste programs through most municipalities; we'll point you to the right channel for anything we can't take. Refrigerators, freezers, ACs, and dehumidifiers are fine, but the refrigerant has to be removed (or already removed) per EPA rules — we can document this on pickup.
Do I need to be home for the pickup?
Not always — depends on the job. For interior cleanouts where the crew needs access through the house, yes. For driveway, garage, or yard pickups where items are already accessible, often no — we coordinate on the call. Estate cleanouts and tenant-out scenarios where the family or property manager isn't on-site work fine if access and scope are pre-confirmed.
How fast can you come to Stamford?
Same-day before 11 AM is the standard target for in-area dispatch. After 11 AM, next-day is realistic. Same-day after 11 AM or on weekends is sometimes possible if the schedule allows — call (203) 219-8855, Mon–Fri 8 AM – 4 PM live, AI after-hours and weekends, to ask.
