Serving storage facilities across Fairfield, New Haven, Hartford, Litchfield, and Middlesex counties plus lower New London County.

A storage unit is the only kind of clutter that sends you a bill every month. Whatever went in — the between-apartments overflow, the inherited furniture there was no room for, the unit that was "just for six months" in 2019 — the rent doesn't care, and every 1st of the month it collects again.

We end that arrangement: crew and truck meet you at the facility, the unit gets sorted and cleared inside an hour or two for most sizes, and you hand back an empty unit instead of another payment. Anywhere across Fairfield, New Haven, Hartford, Litchfield, and Middlesex counties plus lower New London, on the standard truck-space ladder from $179 — and if the deadline is the end of the month, that's precisely the kind of date we book to.

The end-of-month math

Storage cleanouts are deadline jobs wearing casual clothes. The facility bills on the 1st; vacate notice usually needs the unit empty and broom-swept before then; and the difference between clearing it this week and "getting to it eventually" is another full month's rent for the privilege of procrastinating. On a typical CT unit, that skipped payment covers a real share of the cleanout — the job partially funds itself just by happening before the bill does.

So tell us the date when you call. Same-day is realistic across most of our service area before 11 AM, and even in the month's final week we can usually land the truck inside your window. The crew clears, you do the facility's move-out steps (lock off, office notified, unit inspected), and the recurring line item in your budget becomes a memory. Of all the jobs we run, this is the one that most literally pays for itself.

We work inside the facility's rules — all of them

Storage facilities have rules, and a crew that ignores them creates problems you'll still own after we leave. Ours is the well-behaved kind of operation: we coordinate gate access and work inside posted hours, stage the truck where the facility wants trucks, keep aisles passable while we load, and — the big one — never touch the facility's dumpsters. Practically every facility bans cleanout debris in their bins and bills tenants who try; everything we clear leaves the property in our truck, period.

Interior corridor units and upper floors are routine — that's what the facility's carts and freight elevators exist for, and the crew uses them properly. Climate-controlled buildings, keypad corridors, units at the far end of the third floor: all fine, all the same truck-space price, because carries never change our tiers. The facility gets back a broom-swept unit and an empty bin count, which is why facilities are happy to see us pull in.

Unit sizes, honest ranges — and the auction buyers

How much truck does a unit fill? Genuinely: it depends how it was packed, and anyone quoting a fixed price per unit size is guessing. The ranges we actually see: a packed 5x10 usually lands quarter to half truck ($359-$559); a full 10x10 typically runs half to three-quarter ($559-$809); a stuffed 10x20 can fill the truck, occasionally a second load — while a half-empty unit of any footprint comes in far below its band. The tier that counts is the one confirmed at the unit door, before loading; the ranges are for budgeting the decision, not billing it.

And a word for the auction buyers, because you call us often: you've mined the resale value, the paperwork says broom-swept by a date, and what's left is remainder volume. We clear the leavings while you protect the finds — a standing arrangement for regulars who buy units around the county. Same ladder, usually a lighter load than the unit started as, and the facility gets its unit back on schedule.

Truck-space pricing — units map to the ladder as honest ranges

When loading the dumpster yourself isn’t the right call — small volume, awkward access, or you just want it gone today — we send a crew. Pricing runs by truck space used, not by item. Final pricing confirmed before removal begins.

  • Minimum Load$179
  • 1/8 Truckload$239
  • 1/6 Truckload$309

Pricing: the same ladder, met at the facility gate

The 13-tier truck-space ladder above is the entire pricing story — no per-unit rate card, no facility surcharge, no interior-corridor fee. The crew walks the unit with you, names the tier out loud, and loads once you've agreed; mid-job additions ("actually, the boxes in the car too") re-confirm the same way. Donation-grade furniture and housewares route through our charity partners with the receipt forwarded — and storage units are consistently our best donation source, because things went in usable.

If the unit's contents are heading home rather than away — a sort-and-move rather than a cleanout — that's the hourly general labor crew, bookable for the same visit. Mixed jobs (some home, some donated, some gone) are the storage-unit standard, and one dispatch handles all three streams.

Five steps, gate to gone

  1. Call (203) 219-8855 or send the junk removal quote form. Facility name and town, unit size, how packed, and the vacate date. Photos through the open door are ideal.
  2. We book to the deadline. Facility hours and gate access coordinated in advance.
  3. Meet at the unit. Walkthrough, sort plan, tier confirmed before loading.
  4. The clear. Keep to your car, donations to the truck's charity side, the rest loaded — aisles kept clear, facility rules kept.
  5. Broom-swept handoff. You do the facility's move-out steps; the rent stops; nothing of yours is left on the property, including in their dumpster.

Storage unit cleanout FAQs

Do I have to be at the storage facility during the cleanout?
For the start of it, usually yes — someone has to get us through the gate, open the unit, and make the keep-or-go calls. After the walkthrough and the sort, plenty of customers hand off and leave; the crew finishes loading and sends photos of the empty unit. If you genuinely can't be there at all (out-of-state renters are common), we can coordinate with the facility on access and work from your written instructions — it just takes a pre-call to set up.
How do unit sizes map to your pricing?
As honest ranges, not fixed equivalences — a unit's floor size says nothing about how densely it's packed. Rough guide from the jobs we run: a packed 5x10 usually lands quarter to half truck ($359-$559); a full 10x10 typically runs half to three-quarter truck ($559-$809); a stuffed 10x20 can reach a full truck or occasionally beyond. A lightly-used unit of any size can come in far under those bands. The crew confirms the real tier at the door before loading — the ranges are for budgeting, the walkthrough is the price.
Can you just throw everything in the facility's dumpster?
No — and neither should you. Nearly every storage facility prohibits tenants (and their contractors) from using on-site dumpsters for unit cleanouts, and they enforce it with cameras and fees. Everything we clear leaves the property in our truck and routes through our normal channels: donations to charity partners, metal and e-waste to recyclers, the rest to licensed transfer stations. Facilities like us because we leave nothing behind, including in their bins.
I bought a unit at auction. Do you do those cleanouts?
Regularly — the auction-buyer job is its own rhythm and we know it: you've pulled the resale value in the first afternoon, the deadline to broom-sweep the unit is in the paperwork, and the remainder is volume that needs to vanish. We clear the leavings, you keep the finds, and the unit goes back empty on schedule. Same truck-space tiers; auction leftovers are usually a lighter load than the full unit was.
The rent hits again on the 1st. Can you clear it before then?
That's the most common call this page gets, and yes — end-of-month is exactly the deadline we schedule around. One more month's rent on a typical CT unit often costs as much as a meaningful chunk of the cleanout itself, which is the whole math of doing it now instead of next cycle. Call before 11 AM and same-day is realistic for most of our service area; even late-month, we can usually land inside the window. Say the deadline when you call and we'll book to it.
Can you sort donate-versus-dump at the unit?
Yes, and storage units are where sorting pays best — units hold furniture and household goods that went in usable and mostly stayed that way. The aisle becomes the sorting line: keep goes in your car, donatable rides our charity routing (tax receipt forwarded per our usual flow), the rest goes on the truck. Storage units yield more donation-grade material than almost any other cleanout we do.
What about a relative's unit, or a tenant who abandoned one?
Bring authorization — that's the one non-negotiable. For a family member's unit, whoever holds the rental agreement (or the estate authority) needs to arrange access with the facility; for landlord and abandoned-unit situations, the facility's own process governs when the contents can legally be cleared. Once access is squared with the facility, the cleanout itself is standard. We work for the person with the right to empty the unit, and facilities confirm that before the gate opens — as they should.
