The permit counts days, and private roads too
The Village's fee schedule has a line for a Dumpster Permit under Chapter 82 of the Village Code. It's charged by the day, with an extra daily charge for each parking meter the container blocks. The line reads "Public or Private Road," so a box on a private road in the Village is covered too, not just one on a Village street. The Village sets the amounts; check them with the Building Department before you file.
Because the fee runs per day, a long rental in the road costs more in permits than a short one. If the job can be loaded fast, plan a tight window. If the work will drag on for weeks, it's worth checking whether the container can go somewhere off the road.
The schedule doesn't name the office that issues it. The Building Department issues street-opening and sidewalk permits and links the fee schedule, so that's where we'd start.
Bulk pickup in the Village
The Village collects bulk trash twice a month, on Mondays in Area A and Tuesdays in Area B, with 2026 dates on the schedule. Commercial properties get no bulk pickup at all. If you run a storefront, a cleanout there is a container job from the start.
Metal is separate. The Village takes bulk metal on Fridays by appointment, booked online, and it's strict about it: metal only, and don't put anything out until the Village confirms. For a single old washer, that's the easier route.
