Junk removal in Farmington is a crew job: we bring a 20-yard truck and two people, you point at what goes, and the price is confirmed before anything is loaded. Farmington is two towns for our purposes. That shapes what a typical Farmington dispatch looks like more than anything else does — the sizes we send, the number of visits, and whether a can on the driveway makes more sense than a second truck run. Everything below is the detail: the tiers, what we take, what we don't, and where Farmington's own municipal disposal options sit if you'd rather haul it yourself.
What Farmington jobs tend to look like
Farmington is two towns for our purposes. The Farmington Village historic district and the older stock along Farmington Avenue bring narrow stairs, small doorways and protected streetscapes where the truck's position needs thought — modest volume, slow going. Unionville, South Farmington, Mountain Spring and Farmington Woods are newer, with garages, finished basements and room to work: more tonnage, fewer complications. We ask for the address before estimating hours.
The truck and the crew
One 20 cubic yard truck, two people, and no expectation that you touch any of it. That's four to five cubic yards more than the 15-to-17-yard trucks most of this industry runs, and the extra volume is why a job that would take somebody else two dispatches usually takes us one. The tiers below are measured against that truck, so the sizing math stays honest across every job we quote.
Same-day junk removal in Farmington
Same-day service when booked before 11 AM and a truck is available; next-day is standard.
In practice that means Farmington is usually reachable on the day’s routes when the call lands early and a truck has room left in it. After the cutoff, or on mornings the trucks go out full, the honest answer is next-day — and we say so on the phone rather than overbook. Either way you get a real arrival window at booking, not a callback. Hartford County dispatch runs Mon–Sat 8 AM – 4 PM.
Common Farmington junk removal calls
Historic-village clears
Farmington Village and the older Farmington Avenue stock — narrow stairs, small doorways, a truck position that needs thinking about.
Unionville and Farmington Woods garage jobs
Newer housing with garages, finished basements and the driveway room to work efficiently.
Renovation debris hauls
Common here, and with no municipal option it goes straight into a can or on the truck.
What it costs
You are buying space in the truck, not a line-item count of your things. That's why we don't ask what's in the pile before quoting a range — we ask how much of a 20-yard body it will fill. Thirteen tiers run from $179 to $979; these are the ones people actually land on:
- $179 minimum — a single mattress, an old appliance, a small pile of junk by the curb
- $359 — quarter truck — typical garage cleanout or partial basement
- $559 — half truck — apartment-sized cleanout, single-room renovation debris
- $809 — three-quarter truck — single-family decluttering, large estate room
- $979 — full 20-yard truck — full-property cleanouts, whole-home work
The tier gets confirmed on site, before anything pulls away. The number you agree to is the number on the invoice.
Every tier, top to bottom — Farmington
When loading the dumpster yourself isn’t the right call — small volume, awkward access, or you just want it gone today — we send a crew. Pricing runs by truck space used, not by item. Final pricing confirmed before removal begins.

What Farmington customers say
Y “Spectacular service, even during Covid! First, a human answered their phone immediately and was clear and courteous. How rare these days! I got an appointment for next day! As promised, received a call that crew was on its way. My mother gave me last minute permission to move a fridge, not part of original request. So I had to tell the poor guys upon arrival that there was a surprise fridge move, two in fact, one removed, one moved within house. Crew didn't flinch. Then one fridge move required its doors AND house door to come off, which they achieved with impressive skill. I'm a manager in my work life and can say their professionalism was superb. Also, important for environment, the company claims to recycle materials. A+ on every level.”
Y “Amazing experience! I would definitely hire them again! Every interaction with this company, from setting up the appointment with Justin, and then having to move it up, because my long distance home movers moved up their delivery day at the last minute, and to the appointment itself, has been a wonderful, and positive experience. When we had to change my delivery window at the last minute, Justin was incredibly helpful and accommodating. And the amazing movers, Eric and Mike, "Big Mike", were so wonderful, professional, helpful, kind, and did excellent work.”
Y “It's spring cleaning time! Who am I going to call? the same great company I called 3 times before...grizzly junk pros! I have found these guys to be experts in moving large bulky items. They are hard workers, honest, fair and extremely efficient. I won't take a chance on any other company because I know what to expect from this one. They've done my cellar, things inside the house and now will call them for cleaning out the attic. The areas I've called them for aren't easy to maneuver in...amazing how they adapt to the job at hand.”

Demo work in Farmington
A lot of what people call junk removal starts with something that has to come apart first. A deck that's rotted through, a shed nobody has opened in a decade, kitchen cabinets standing between a contractor and a start date. Taking it down and hauling it away is the same visit for us, and it saves you coordinating two companies around one driveway.
The pattern repeats: cabinets out then appliances gone, deck down then lumber loaded, shed dismantled then the slab swept. Demolition is quoted on its own because scope varies far more than volume does — but it lands on the same truck, the same day, and the same invoice.

Farmington is inside our Hartford County service area and runs on the standard dispatch cadence — same-day on an early call when a truck has room, next-day otherwise. We confirm the arrival window at booking rather than quoting a drive time we haven't measured.
