Every question a customer emails us gets answered by a person, which means somebody here reads all of them. This summer we ranked them. From June through September 2026 we sorted every inbound customer email by what it was actually asking, and the same ten questions covered nearly all of it (Grizzly Junk Pros inbound email, Jun–Sep 2026, ranked by frequency).
So here they are, in order, with the same answers dispatch gives on the phone — operating practice, not marketing copy. If you're about to rent a can from anyone in Connecticut, these ten are most of what you'll end up wanting to know.
1. When is my dumpster arriving?
The most-asked question in the inbox, by a wide margin. Deliveries run between 8 AM and 5 PM on your scheduled day. If you need the can first thing — a crew standing by, a roofer on the clock — tell us when you book and we'll route you as a first drop when we can, but it isn't a guarantee; routes get built around geography and transfer-station hours. The honest reassurance: about 2 in 3 deliveries are scheduled before 8:30 AM (Grizzly Junk Pros job data, 2026, n=989), because drivers load out early. If timing matters to your project, the best day to schedule delivery walks the weekly pattern.
2. How do I get the dumpster picked up? Is it automatic?
Pickup is not automatic — you request it, and that's deliberate. Nobody wants a truck showing up to haul a can out from under a half-finished project, so we wait to hear from you. When you're done, reply to your confirmation email, call (203) 219-8855, or use the pickup request form, and we'll route it — usually within a business day or two. The 7-day window and the $15/day rate after it exist either way, so the practical rule is simple: ask for pickup when you're done, and the clock stops being your problem. How long people really keep a can has the real numbers.
3. Can I keep it over the weekend? What about holidays?
Yes. The 7 included days are calendar days, and days past the window are $15 each — a posted rate, not a penalty. A weekend or a holiday inside your rental is just part of the week. One thing we hold ourselves to: if the delay is on our side — a holiday closure pushes your pickup, a scheduling slip on our routes — you don't pay for it. Extension days are for time you used, not time we cost you.
4. Why is there a weight charge on my invoice?
Because the transfer station weighs every load on a certified scale, and anything past your size's included allowance passes through at $0.10/lb. It's the scale ticket, not a judgment call — we're reading a number off the receipt, not estimating how full the can looked. For scale: a $40 overage is a few hundred pounds — some wet carpet and a couple boxes of tile. Across our early-2026 rentals, median overage = $140; 1 in 5 overages is $50 or less; 2 in 5 are $100 or less (Grizzly Junk Pros job data, Jan 2 – Apr 24, 2026, n=298). The overage fee guide publishes the full distribution.
5. What's the price — and does my old price still apply?
The website price is the price. Every size and every fee is posted before you book, and the number you see online is the number on the invoice. What the posted price is not is frozen: it moves when disposal costs move, and Connecticut's disposal costs have been climbing for years — here's the full picture. So a rate from a prior year's rental doesn't carry forward; whatever is posted on the pricing pages the day you book is what you pay.
6. Will it fit in my driveway?
Almost always — but the honest answer is a photo. Snap the driveway entrance from the street, or send a Google Street View link of the house, and text or email it before delivery day. The driver-level concerns are the approach, overhead wires and branches, and where the heavy end lands — things a photo settles in thirty seconds and a phone description never quite does. Driveway vs. street placement covers the placement call in full, permits included.
7. Can I throw in a mattress? A refrigerator? Tires?
Yes, with a per-item fee that Connecticut disposal rules drive, not us: mattresses and box springs are $50 each, refrigerant appliances (refrigerators, freezers, ACs, dehumidifiers) are $50 each, and tires are $50 each. These are pass-throughs — mattresses route through the state recycling program, refrigerant needs a certified reclaim, tires have their own disposal channel. Flag them at booking and there are no surprises. The three regulated item fees explains where each one goes.
8. How and when do I pay?
Two ways: a card on file at booking, or an invoice after pickup with a pay link. Debit or credit, either way. What we don't do is take payment on site — the driver's job is the can, not the transaction, so nobody standing in your driveway will ask you for a card. If there's an overage or an item fee, it shows up itemized on the invoice with the scale ticket behind it.
9. Can I reschedule my delivery?
Yes — call or reply to your confirmation any time before the delivery day and we'll move it, no fee, no drama. Weather reschedules are completely normal; if the forecast turns on your demo weekend, push the can rather than letting it sit through the rain. The only ask is lead time: once the truck is loaded and routed on the morning of, a reschedule turns into a trip for nothing.
10. What sizes do you have? Anything bigger?
Four packages: 10, 15, 20, and 30/40-yard — and the 30/40 is delivered as a pair of 20-yard cans, side by side or one-at-a-time with a swap, because no physical 30/40 can exists in our fleet. Nothing larger than that. Every package arrives in the same physical can; what changes when you pick a size is the weight allowance included in the price — the full explanation. Size specs and rates are on the dumpster page.
The pattern in the list
Read the ten again and notice what they have in common: almost none of them are about the can. They're about time and money — when it shows up, when it leaves, what the invoice says, and whether the number posted is the number charged. That matches how we think the business should run. The can is a steel box; the service is the schedule and the bill.
