Ask when you should schedule a dumpster and most companies will say "whenever works for you." True, but useless. We pulled the delivery day for 989 of our 2026 drops, and the week has a shape — one worth knowing before you pick a date, because the shape decides how much choice you get.
The week, by the numbers
Friday carries 26.2% of all deliveries — the heaviest day of the week by a wide margin (Grizzly Junk Pros job data, 2026, n=989). Monday is second at 20.3%, Thursday close behind at 18.4%. Then the valley: Tuesday at 17.0% and Wednesday at 15.4%. Saturday nearly disappears at 2.7%, and Sunday is a flat zero — no routes run.
The logic writes itself. Friday drops feed weekend projects. Monday drops feed contractor weeks — a crew that starts demo Monday morning wants the can on site when they arrive. Thursday is the early birds beating the Friday crunch. Tuesday and Wednesday belong to the people whose projects don't care what day it is — and they get the emptiest routes in the week for it.
The trucks run early
About 2 in 3 deliveries are scheduled before 8:30 AM (Grizzly Junk Pros job data, 2026, n=989). Roll-off routes leave the yard at first light — ahead of school traffic, ahead of the transfer-station lines. Practically, that means two things. Your can will almost certainly be down before mid-morning, so a "delivery day" is really a delivery morning and your project gets nearly the full day. And the spot needs to be ready the night before — a car parked where the can goes at 7 AM means a phone call nobody enjoys.
How to play it
- Weekend project? Book the Friday drop by Wednesday. Friday routes are a quarter of the whole week's volume, and they fill first — in the April-through-August push, first by days. Load Saturday and Sunday; the 7-day window means Monday-you can keep going.
- Want a specific placement or a tight driveway threaded? Tuesday or Wednesday. Lightest routes, most driver time, easiest day to honor an exact request.
- Contractor starting Monday? You're in the second-biggest crowd of the week — book the Monday drop the week before, or take a Thursday/Friday drop and let the can sit the weekend; the window covers it.
- In a genuine hurry? Same-day is often possible on lighter days if you call before 11 AM — closer-in towns are honest same-day candidates, far corners of the service area default to next-day.
One more thing that makes all of this simpler on our end: every can in the fleet is identical, so any truck can serve any booking — a Friday crunch never turns into "we have a can, just not your can."
Pick the size before you pick the day
The day gets the can there; the size and weight tier decide the bill. Start at the 20-yard page if you're gutting rooms, the 10-yard page for a single-room or small-remodel load, and the statewide rate card for every posted number in one place. When you know the day is coming, book online — it works any hour, which beats waiting for the phones to open.

Where these numbers come from
The day-of-week shares and the early-morning figure come from our own 2026 dispatch records — all 989 dumpster deliveries in the detail book, every one a truck that actually rolled. Day-to-day availability shifts with the season; the shape of the week doesn't. For the month-by-month picture, see the seasonality guide.
