dumpster-loaded-furniture-removal in Stamford, CT by Grizzly Junk Pros

Junk removal in Granby is a crew job: we bring a 20-yard truck and two people, you point at what goes, and the price is confirmed before anything is loaded. Granby is rural and large-parcel across most of its area — North Granby, West Granby, the Bushy Hill and Lost Acres Road stretches. That shapes what a typical Granby dispatch looks like more than anything else does — the sizes we send, the number of visits, and whether a can on the driveway makes more sense than a second truck run. Everything below is the detail: the tiers, what we take, what we don't, and where Granby's own municipal disposal options sit if you'd rather haul it yourself.

What Granby jobs tend to look like

Granby is rural and large-parcel across most of its area — North Granby, West Granby, the Bushy Hill and Lost Acres Road stretches. Barns and detached garages are normal here rather than exceptional, and they hold tools, equipment and stored goods that amount to a second job at the same address. Granby Center and the Salmon Brook Street and Loomis Street blocks are denser and more conventional. We walk the whole parcel.

The truck and the crew

One 20 cubic yard truck, two people, and no expectation that you touch any of it. That's four to five cubic yards more than the 15-to-17-yard trucks most of this industry runs, and the extra volume is why a job that would take somebody else two dispatches usually takes us one. The tiers below are measured against that truck, so the sizing math stays honest across every job we quote.

Same-day junk removal in Granby

Same-day service when booked before 11 AM and a truck is available; next-day is standard.

In practice that means Granby is usually reachable on the day’s routes when the call lands early and a truck has room left in it. After the cutoff, or on mornings the trucks go out full, the honest answer is next-day — and we say so on the phone rather than overbook. Either way you get a real arrival window at booking, not a callback. Hartford County dispatch runs Mon–Sat 8 AM – 4 PM.

Common Granby junk removal calls

Rural parcel and barn clears

North Granby, West Granby and the Bushy Hill area — outbuildings holding tools, equipment and stored goods, which is effectively a second job at the same address.

Granby Center house clear-outs

Denser and more conventional, with the ordinary basement-and-garage volume.

Estate and downsizing hauls

Large parcels with long ownership tenures produce the deepest accumulations we see in this part of the county.

Pricing — $179 to $979 by truck-space used

Junk removal is priced by truck-space at the end of the job, not by item count. Thirteen tiers from $179 minimum (single-item or small-pile pickups) to $979 full truckload. Common reference points:

  • $179 minimum — a single mattress, an old appliance, a small pile of junk by the curb
  • $359 — quarter truck — typical garage cleanout or partial basement
  • $559 — half truck — apartment-sized cleanout, single-room renovation debris
  • $809 — three-quarter truck — single-family decluttering, large estate room
  • $979 — full 20-yard truck — full-property cleanouts, whole-home work

We confirm the tier on site before the truck pulls away. No bait-and-switch up after the work starts.

Every tier, top to bottom — Granby

When loading the dumpster yourself isn’t the right call — small volume, awkward access, or you just want it gone today — we send a crew. Pricing runs by truck space used, not by item. Final pricing confirmed before removal begins.

Spectacular service, even during Covid! First, a human answered their phone immediately and was clear and courteous. How rare these days! I got an appointment for next day! As promised, received a call that crew was on its way. My mother gave me last minute permission to move a fridge, not part of original request. So I had to tell the poor guys upon arrival that there was a surprise fridge move, two in fact, one removed, one moved within house. Crew didn't flinch. Then one fridge move required its doors AND house door to come off, which they achieved with impressive skill. I'm a manager in my work life and can say their professionalism was superb. Also, important for environment, the company claims to recycle materials. A+ on every level.

Amazing experience! I would definitely hire them again! Every interaction with this company, from setting up the appointment with Justin, and then having to move it up, because my long distance home movers moved up their delivery day at the last minute, and to the appointment itself, has been a wonderful, and positive experience. When we had to change my delivery window at the last minute, Justin was incredibly helpful and accommodating. And the amazing movers, Eric and Mike, "Big Mike", were so wonderful, professional, helpful, kind, and did excellent work.

It's spring cleaning time! Who am I going to call? the same great company I called 3 times before...grizzly junk pros! I have found these guys to be experts in moving large bulky items. They are hard workers, honest, fair and extremely efficient. I won't take a chance on any other company because I know what to expect from this one. They've done my cellar, things inside the house and now will call them for cleaning out the attic. The areas I've called them for aren't easy to maneuver in...amazing how they adapt to the job at hand.

Demo work in Granby

Roughly a third of the junk removal calls we take have a demolition step hiding inside them. Somebody wants a hot tub gone and hasn't thought about how it leaves the yard; somebody wants a basement cleared and the built-in shelving is part of the problem. We handle both halves rather than hauling what's loose and leaving the rest.

Frequent pairings: kitchen demo with appliance removal, deck teardown with lumber haul, shed demolition with debris clearing, basement gut with same-day removal. Demolition carries its own quote — scope varies too much for a tier — but it shares the truck and the day.

Junk removal FAQs — Granby

Is there a Granby transfer station?
No. Granby contracts curbside collection — USA Waste and Recycling took over the town's municipal collection in partnership with Paine's from January 2025 — and there is no municipal drop-off site. Eligible properties under the town ordinance are residential with one or two dwelling units.
So how do I get rid of a sofa or a barn's worth of material?
That's the gap. With no station and a curbside programme built for household volume, anything past a cart is either a private hauler, a can on the driveway, or our crew. For a barn clear-out it's usually the last two together.
Do you cover North and West Granby?
Yes — the rural western parcels are a normal part of the dispatch. We ask about outbuildings before quoting, because the barn is regularly bigger than the house job.
What's the cheapest junk removal job you'll take in Granby?
Our minimum charge is $179 — covers a single mattress, an old appliance, a small pile of junk by the curb. Anything that fits in less than 1/8 of our truck. For very small jobs, that's the floor. Larger jobs scale up by truck-space used, all the way to $979 for a full 20-cubic-yard load.
What can't go in your trucks?
Hazardous waste — paint, motor oil, gasoline, solvents, pesticides, pool chemicals, asbestos, biohazardous material. Lithium and other batteries. CT and NY both run household hazardous-waste programs through most municipalities; we'll point you to the right channel for anything we can't take. Refrigerators, freezers, ACs, and dehumidifiers are fine, but the refrigerant has to be removed (or already removed) per EPA rules — we can document this on pickup.
Do I need to be home for the pickup?
Not always — depends on the job. For interior cleanouts where the crew needs access through the house, yes. For driveway, garage, or yard pickups where items are already accessible, often no — we coordinate on the call. Estate cleanouts and tenant-out scenarios where the family or property manager isn't on-site work fine if access and scope are pre-confirmed.
How fast can you come to Granby?
Same-day before 11 AM is the standard target for in-area dispatch. After 11 AM, next-day is realistic. Same-day after 11 AM or on weekends is sometimes possible if the schedule allows — call (203) 219-8855, Mon–Fri 8 AM – 4 PM live, AI after-hours and weekends, to ask.
