What Ridgefield properties tend to hold
Ridgefield is really two estate towns. The older housing around Main Street, Branchville and Ridgebury has the attics, the narrow stairs and the genuine multi-generation accumulation — modest square footage, surprising volume, slow carries. The newer subdivisions out toward West Mountain, Limestone and Florida Hill have the garages and the finished basements, which produce more tonnage but come out faster because the access is designed for vehicles. Knowing which one we're walking into changes the day count before we see a single room. Ridgefield's larger lots also mean outbuildings turn up often enough to be a standing walkthrough question.

The crew moves room by room and pulls anything that looks like it should be a decision — documents, photographs, safes and lockboxes, jewellery, military items, anything printed with an account number. That pile goes on a table for you to go through. We're not valuers, so the standard is deliberately generous: if there's a question, it doesn't go on the truck.
We route donations where they'll take them. Usable goods to a charity partner rather than a transfer station. It costs the same in labour and it's simply a better ending.
We plan for more than one day. Full properties run two to four. Same crew throughout, and we'll build the schedule around a closing date if there is one.
What it costs
You pay for the space your things take in the truck. That's the whole model — the same ladder we use for a single-item pickup, applied to a house.

There is no flat price for a whole property, and an outfit that quotes you one hasn't seen it. Most estates run several loads across more than one day. The walkthrough is what turns that into a number: we count what's coming out, look at the carry, and write it down before anyone lifts anything. On larger properties we'll often put a 20-yard roll-off at $647 on the driveway and run it alongside the crew, so bulky material goes straight into the can instead of the truck making repeat trips.
Working remotely
Many of these calls come from three states away, and the process is built for it rather than adapted to it.
We'll walk the property and record it — video for the whole thing, photographs for anything specific. The quote is emailed, in writing, with the numbers on it. We take direction from whoever you nominate, whether that's a realtor, an estate attorney or a family member who lives closer. Anything the crew sets aside gets photographed before we leave, so nothing gets a decision made about it without you. Invoicing happens after the work, itemised by what left and where it went.
